It would be good if individual represented us in the Sejm. – an Ukrainian activist surviving in Poland confessed in an interview for RMF FM.
On 8 March 2023, RMF FM spoke to Natalia Panchenko, co-founder of Euromaidan-Warsaw, erstwhile activist of the Open dialog Foundation by Bartosz Kramek. In her conversation with Piotr Salak, she argued that the Ukrainian community in Poland is very well organized. In her opinion, however, it would be good if the Ukrainians had their representation in the Sejm.
– If this community is that big, individual should represent it. But so far we have not thought about it, most likely due to the fact that most of these people inactive have Ukrainian citizenship, no Polish citizenship, no voting rights in Poland – said Panchenko, seemingly noting that there was no more pro-Ukrainian parliament in the short past of Ukraine than the Warsaw one. She pointed out that even before the outbreak of the war in Poland there were 2.5 million Ukrainians. I These people are already slow starting to get these citizenships– She added.
She besides confessed what she thought functions poorly in Poland, while in Ukraine she is working for a medal.
– We are very close, there are quite a few things that we have akin and that unite us, but there are things that are different. What annoys them most is that nothing can be done over the phone. There is simply a “State in the Smartphone” program in Ukraine, where you can arrange everything with your phone. Any case in the office, in the bank, can be handled on the phone– said Natalia Panchenko. So, Natalia, wide way! You'll be better off in Ukraine.
