In Żytomierz, close the Roman Catholic Church of Divine Mercy in Malowanka district, on the eve of Easter were set
monument to St. John Paul II. The event coincided
with the 21st anniversary of the death of Pope Pole. The parishioners raised money for the postument and improvement of the area around, as informed by Fr Jarosław Olszewski SAC.
The monument of St. John Paul II in Żytomierz on the street bearing the name of Pope Pole is his initiative. The parish community supported the thought and helped implement it.
– I am convinced that setting up the monument to John
Paul II close the Church of Divine Mercy
In Żytomierz, and besides in the street, which more than 10 years ago,
As part of the decommunisation process, it was renamed from Mykoła Ostrowski Street to St. John Paul II Street, it is rather logical. The Pope is simply a individual of excellent reputation on a global scale. He recorded himself in past as a bright and affirmative figure, a man of strong faith, a pattern
to advance the spiritual values and peaceful coexistence of humans on earth. John Paul II always greatly supported Ukraine and Ukrainians and always pursued
To make our country our nation successful,
was independent and spiritually strong," said Fr Olszewski.
