Twitter has removed restrictions from Russian government and media accounts

The popular social networking site, just after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, introduced restrictions on all accounts linked to the Kremlin. The Telegraph reported that the lockdown is no longer active. The Telegraph conducted investigation from respective different accounts that sought to confirm assumptions that restrictions on Russian government and media accounts had been taken down. The tests showed that both the search engine, timeline and advice tools show accounts of Vladimir Putin, Russia's abroad Ministry and Russia's embassy in the UK. Among another things, restrictions were imposed on these profiles.
“We will not strengthen or urge governmental accounts belonging to states that restrict access to free information and are active in armed interstate conflict,” Twitter said in April 2022.
