Rafał Trzaskowski lost the second consecutive presidential election — and this could be his political end. In the Civic Coalition, the moods are grave, and the closest colleagues say directly, "This is no longer a leader." What about the president of Warsaw? Will Donald Tusk take full control of the power camp?

After the second consecutive failure in the presidential election, Rafał Trzaskowski was in a peculiarly hard situation. Citizens' Coalition politicians do not hide disappointment. In the spheres, 1 word is heard more and more often: “stip”. This is simply a description of both the atmosphere after the elections and the future of Trzaskowski – who according to Interia speakers – just ended his career in large politics.

– Raphael is the most battered of all of us today. He will never be the leader of this camp again – admits 1 of the PO staff.

Two hours of euphoria and bitter disappointment

On election night, at 21 o'clock, the exit poll gave Trzaskowski a minimum advantage over Karol Nawrocki – 50.3% to 49.7%. The KO staff was euphoria. Despite the deficiency of a prepared speech, Trzaskowski himself spoke as if he had already included the office of President.

Two hours later, everything changed. The fresh data – the alleged summertime poll – indicated Nawrocki's triumph of 50.7 to 49.3%. Trzaskowski lost and, according to many, lost the full Donald Tusk ruling camp. net memes about "the shortest president of the world" rapidly appeared.

The political future of Trzaskovsky in question

On Monday after the election, Trzaskowski returned to work at the Town Hall. He besides published a message in which he thanked voters and apologized for losing. “I am sorry that I failed to convince most citizens to my imagination of Poland. Sorry we didn't win together," he tweeted on Twitter/X.

The run was of large importance to Vice-President PO. This time he was expected to win – unlike the 2020 campaign. It didn't work.

"The Game" that will be forgotten?

The Interia speakers agree – it is most likely the end of Trzaskovsky's political ambitions at national level. - A Europarliament? Maybe. And if not, he will get a "three" to the seymika and a hi – says 1 of the local authorities of PO with a snack.

Another PO politician emphasizes: "He won 10 million votes twice, but presidential elections are not a competition where there are awards for second place.

Although the anger of the electorate and the organization focuses partially on Trzaskowski, part of the anger is besides directed at Donald Tusk and his government, whose mediocre image had a negative impact on the campaign.

Clearance? Not now, but the memory will disappear.

Although KO politicians do not plan the public settlement of Trzaskovsky, his future is clearly defined: he will be president of Warsaw for the remainder of his term, but that is the end. Rafal will not be the scapegoat, but will be forgotten. It has 2 large losses. This is not a leader – says PO politician.

Donald Tusk Time

At this hard moment, the party's full attention focuses on Donald Tusk. It is up to him – as the interviewors emphasize – whether the Coalition of 15 October will last another 2 years. Tusk began the offensive: in his tv speech he announced a motion for a vote of assurance for his government. The vote is scheduled for June 11.

The Prime Minister besides announced that he would cooperate with president Nawrocki "in accordance with the constitution and his own conscience", but is besides ready for a hard co-habitation.

Tusk wants to tie the coalition.

The aim of the vote of assurance is not only to show strength, but besides to consolidate the loyalty of the coalition. As Interia speakers point out, the PiS is only waiting for an chance to drag Coalition MPs on 15 October to their side. And any of the coalitions have more and more reservations about Donald Tusk's management style.

“We will either introduce a government of work or we will be dead,” says the PO politician, hoping for the return of the “hard Tusk”.
