During their visit to Kiev, leaders of 5 countries – including Poland – called on Russia to enter into a 30-day truce with Ukraine. Behind our east border Poland was represented by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who visited Kiev in the company of, among others, French president Emmanuel Macron, the fresh German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and UK Prime Minister Keira Starmer. Upon his return to the country, Tusk published an entry online in which he referred to yesterday's stay in Ukraine, but he besides put a pin of Law and Justice on the way.

On Sunday, May 11, Donald Tusk released a joint photograph on page X with leaders of France, large Britain, Germany and Ukraine. The photo, on which he made a distinctive gesture, touching his finger pointing to his ear, features a brief signature: “Can you hear howling? The loudest in Moscow and Novgorod. I wonder why?’

Tusk on his return from Ukraine: No more casualties!

A fewer twelve minutes later, another 1 appeared on the profile of the Polish Prime Minister, this time a longer entry, in which Tusk referred to yesterday's gathering with Western European leaders and the president of Ukraine. In Kiev, 5 leaders and Zelenski urged Russia to conclude a 30-day ceasefire.

"In consequence to our appeal, the Russians proposed peace talks starting on May 15. However, the planet is waiting for a clear decision about an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. Ukraine is ready. No more victims!” wrote Tusk on X in English.

This is about the Kremlin's proposal to resume direct peace talks. These would be held on 15 May in Istanbul.

"It is simply a good sign that the Russians are yet reasoning about ending the war. Everyone in the planet has expected this for a long time. The first step towards the end of the war is the ceasefire," commented Volodymyr Zelenski, president of Ukraine.
