Ministers stated that extraordinary measures were active in the investigation: 55 prosecutors and 100 police officers, assisted by experts and technicians, interviewed over 70 witnesses and 530 victims.
"Currently, on the basis of the evidence gathered, we know that the fire was the consequence of arson carried out on behalf of Russian peculiar Services. We have in-depth cognition of the order and the course of the arson and how the perpetrators paper it. The fire investigation was initiated on 13 May 2024.
The post-mortem inspection began on 30 July 2024 – as shortly as the construction surveillance decision allowing the demolition of the burnt hall was finalised. It lasted until 28 November 2024.
