Three After Three: Words Have Power

liberte.pl 1 month ago

Freedom of speech is the most crucial freedom. And since there is always work for exercising freedom, work for the word is 1 of the most crucial forms of responsibility. However, it would be hard to find another opinion that the modern planet would reject equally bluntly, with all the rage written after 2 o’clock in the night.

"How the fuck does he not know the language of the country to which he came, so why don't you go back to your country?" This was about what the councilwoman of Gdańsk, Sylvia Cison said to the east Europeans (which can be demonstrated by the accent with which he spoke rather well Polish) the taxi driver, who gave the councilwoman and children a clumsy ride to the football match. Well, most likely the policy of the far right, possibly from the Confederacy, or from Braun, possibly from the second PiS suit, say? Meanwhile, Councilwoman Cison not only represents the Civic Coalition, but even her left wing in the form of Barbara Nowacka's group. I would not usually anticipate individual from this place to summarize the migration policy of the right-wing utmost in 1 compact and Latin-shaped sentence.

Especially since the councilwoman not only works on the Human Rights Committee, but is besides active in the social campaign... "Words have power". The campaign, as it describes the game for students, wants to teach the importance of “a culture of a good word... through field activity, cooperation and reflection on the language we use”. Somewhere after the second hour, unfortunately, the driver spit on the councilwoman, the councilwoman spit out, she allegedly slapped him on the shoulder, to which he responded with pepper spray. The accounts of the event are not converging, but there was surely no culture or reflection in this peculiar "field game", and the words were unfortunately powerful.

But this is simply a proverbial “fish” compared to the power of words across the ocean. As we know in America everything is bigger, not only the belly of citizens, but besides the work for the word. Shot a fewer weeks ago on a campus in Utah, Charlie Kirk lived only 31 years and until that gathering with the bullet no work for his words was borne. Freedom of speech understood ultra-wide, but the Liberal was only in this 1 respect. erstwhile he was speaking, he was most keen to gloat: homosexuals, immigrants, African-Americans, Hispanics, and any further not entirely white-Protestant cultural groups, people with leftist and liberal views. He made black letters of the latter, filming a spiral of hatred and threats on the net for peculiar people, who, for example, were acquainted with jobs (something in the kind of skinhead RedWatch, which became celebrated about 2 decades ago in Poland). The right-wing agenda was supported without blinking an eye, and present his message that the right to carry arms (IInd amendment to the U.S. Constitution) is so valuable and crucial that the "cost" in the form of the death of "any number" of firearms victims per year is acceptable and profitable.

They say it's God who carries the bullets. However, the black humour that death brings from Kirk's firearms in the light of his message about the right to arms appears alternatively to be the work of the latter. besides perverse for God, in my humble opinion.

This is simply a rough ground, due to the fact that Trump's part of America (i.e. the full apparatus of power) was hysterical after the assassination (and most likely a shock, due to the fact that so far the right in the US had hoped to have a monopoly on the usage of political violence, and here specified a surprise!) and for the above 2 paragraphs I will most likely get an informal ban on entry into the US until the end of this term. Kirk became a martyr, messiah, and prophet; almost holy, as if the word of contempt or hatred had never passed through his mouth. A bit like Lech Kaczyński, but with the difference of course, Lech Kaczyński was indeed a very decent man.

The depth of the area has already been met by Jimmy Kimmel, a comedian from the Late Night band. erstwhile he decided to dispute the shooter's worldview background and suggested his association with the MAGA, the national office immediately forced a photograph of his program from the antenna at ABC station, just as Stephen Colbert's program from the CBS frameline was previously removed (here the conviction has postponed execution). erstwhile a citizen is held accountable for a word of executive power, it is called censorship. In total, Trump's government against Kimmel acted in a function analogous to the bomber sending the bullet to Kirk. Yes, the method is little drastic, but the effect is the same. Government silence is usually a step towards drastic methods. That's what past teaches.
