U.S. president Donald Trump stated in a social media entry that Denmark had been "able to do nothing" for 20 years with the Russian threat in Greenland and announced that "now is the time and this will happen". The comment came the day after the joint communication of 8 European states that sent tiny groups of soldiers to the island.
