The German press is commenting on the riots in Los Angeles. Monday was the next day of the Los Angeles riot after the White home weekend, against the will of the California State authorities, sent an army there, justifying the request to defend national offices.

Protests in Los Angeles broke out on Friday following a manhunt by ICE immigration agents at a clothing warehouse where at least 44 immigrants were arrested. The situation escalates, and on Friday president Donald Trump suggested arresting California politician Gavin Newsom.

"President fuels violence"

"Trump's justification that the California politician is conspiring with criminals immigrants and protesters is as weak as his motive seems clear: the president fuels force in a state ruled by Democrats. This argues with a state of emergency, and it cannot be excluded that he could establish a form of martial law to extend his powers" – he writes about the situation in the US German economical diary "Handelsblatt".

"California is ruled by Democratic candidate Gavin Newsom, who has a chance to become presidential candidate in 2028. California represents an open to the planet that Trump and his "Make America large Again" (MAGA) decision ignore, and is an economical and technological US engine. There are so many reasons why the president should sow chaos there and show his power," we read.

"He has a business to fuel conflict"

"After days of riot in Los Angeles Trump got the paintings he wanted. It is actual that Trump has an interest in fueling conflict: the president, who owes his election triumph primarily to the migration crisis, long ignored by the Democrats, can act as sheriff, doing what the left-wing liberals are avoiding. And it can distract from its own chaos in Washington," writes "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung".

"Gavin Newsom, who should have known Trump's script, could have taken distant any wind in his sails and ordered the National defender itself to defend national agencies," notes the paper from Frankfurt. "California politician [...] is simply a boy for the president for years to beat. And clearly he has the ambition to run for the White home in 2028. Trump is not the only 1 who wants to usage this showdown in his favor".

"Inspired Crisis"

"US president benefits from the fact that society suffers from collective disturbance of attention. The culture of excitement replaces reflection and questions, and it is driven by clicks and lairs. However, this does not mean that the deployment of the National defender against the will of the politician of the largest state in the United States raises little concerns. Especially since the chance seems to be arranged," writes Stuttgarter Zeitung.

"The force occurred only after Trump mobilized troops to suppress protests against immigration services. The fact that respective 100 professional instigators took advantage of the chance does not make it a 'rebellion' against a government comparable to what Trump's supporters tried to do in 2021 during the Capitol assault. It is inactive a staged crisis to divert attention from Trump's failures," we read.
