The parish priest celebrated Mass for Sławomir Mentzen and Karol Nawrocki

– I pray for all man. all man is simply a creature of God and needs God's help. I besides – says the local parish priest Mirosław Wensierski. The priest claims that “the fact that individual is simply a presidential candidate is not a reason to discriminate against someone” and there is no question of agitation.

He says that if the parishioners had asked for "a prayer for a plumber or a female of not very advanced morals, he would have done the same." He assures that he would do the same for another presidential candidates, including Rafał Trzaskowski (KO) and Adrian Zandberg (Together). He adds, however, that it is not about prayer for individual to win elections, due to the fact that it would be against his conscience and pray for a man.

Fr Ireneusz Smagliński, a spokesperson for the Pelplin diocese under which Szymbark is subordinate, explains that there are no forbidden intentions. He besides quotes a code of canon law which states that "the Holy Mass must be celebrated separately for those for whom a sacrifice was made and accepted, even a tiny one." Father Smagliński himself a period ago on Radio The Voice greeted Karol Nawrocki with the words: "Welcome to the President, we would like to say so much shortly the president of the Republic of Poland".

On the another hand, the coordinator of the initiative of the Świecka School and legal advisor Piotr Pawłowski comments in a discussion with the HR that political prayers are "the violation by the Church of both the concordat and our constitution, which clearly talk of the common respect of the state and the church of its autonomy and independence."
