Officers from the Warmia-Mazury Border defender Branch carefully analysed the legality of employment of over 5 300 foreigners in the area of Warmia and Mazury from January to the end of November this year. As a consequence of these checks, it was revealed that 910 people had worked against the rules.
The largest group of illegal workers were Ukrainian citizens, whose percent was 70%, then Belarus - 12%, and Georgia - 7%. Company owners illegally employed them, bypassing the required consent and violating the terms of the permit. Furthermore, entrepreneurs did not sign contracts with foreigners.
The Border defender squad stated that the most cases of illegal employment of foreigners occurred in the construction sector – 21%, as well as in employment agencies – 17%. The services were illegally provided by 16% of foreigners, while in the tourism and catering sectors – 11%, production plants – 10%, and in transport – 8%.
From the beginning of the year to the end of November, courts from Warmia and Mazur imposed fines on controlled employers in the full amount of almost PLN 143 thousand. akin checks in various regions of Poland have yielded akin results, as has been confirmed in many erstwhile cases.
For example, in November, officers from the Border defender Service in Gdynia conducted a check on the employment of 121 foreigners in a local company dealing with work and recruitment of employees. Of these persons, 79 worked illegally, without the required permission, under conditions not specified in the document, without the conclusion of a contract of employment or civilian law. The controllers established that they mainly engaged in area work and scaffolding assembly.
Similar actions were besides taken in another regions, e.g. in 1 of the Poznań labour agencies, where officers from the National Border defender Service in Elbląg controlled the legality of employment of 64 foreigners. It was found that in 20 cases the agency illegally entrusted work to foreigners and 18 people worked illegally. In addition, in 50 cases, the employer did not inform in writing the applicable territory office of employment about the employment of foreigners.
W At the mouth of the Border defender officers, they controlled a company from Słupsk, working through work, where 56 foreigners were checked out. The audit established that 10 people received work illegally, as did the 10 foreigners who were working illegally.
Such checks are carried out systematically, as was the week before, erstwhile the Border defender informed about the inspection of the legality of the employment of foreigners in 1 of the temporary employment agencies in the territory of Włominski. It is worth reminding that in late October, the Border defender of Gdynia carried out a check on 348 foreigners employed by 1 of the temporary work agencies, revealing that almost 300 people worked illegally.
