The European Parliament has one more time discussed the fundamental issue of life protection. In fresh days, Euro-Parliamentarians for Law and Justice and the Confederacy have firmly advocated protecting human life from conception to natural death, stressing that all life deserves unconditional protection.
At the heart of the debate was Ewa Kopacz, erstwhile Prime Minister and current vice-president of the European Parliament, who kept the issue of the beginning of human life and its value from conception. The Kopacz did not mention to multiple judgments of the Polish Constitutional Court, which explicitly recognises human life as worthy of protection from the very beginning. Her speech contained a number of pro-abortion arguments, and there were no words about children whose life, according to the MP of the right, is at serious hazard today.
Euro MPs, including Marlena Maląg, Małgorzata Gosievska and Anna Bryłka, cited arguments for life. They stressed that the child, besides unborn, has a right to life which must not be underestimated in the name of “free choice”. In her speech, Maląg powerfully stated that “abortion is simply a drama! parent drama and kid murder! (...) Everyone should have an inalienable right to life from conception to natural death.”
Similarly, Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik from the Confederacy, who accused abortion supporters of spreading false information about the alleged threat to women. She stressed that “you lie that the law that protects unborn children leads to the death of mothers. According to WHO data, Poland has 1 of the lowest rates of pregnancy mortality.’
In her statement, the digger stated that "a female does not request approval or political consent to know what is best for her – best for her health, life and future." However, she did not mention to the rights of unborn children or to the state's work for protecting life. In consequence to her words, Małgorzata Gosievska of PiS recalled that alternatively of focusing on legalization of abortion, it is worth investing in supporting single mothers and informing men not to leave their partners in the face of an unexpected pregnancy. This position, in her opinion, contributes to a society in which all kid has a chance of living, and families can number on support.
During the debate, Anna Bryłka from the Confederacy reminded that Poland is simply a country in which “you must not execution children – besides unborn ones, and women in Poland are safe. Yes! Women in Poland are safe.” She stressed that the liberalisation of abortion rights was a step towards "a greater number of deaths" and a deepening demographic crisis. The increase in abortion does not contribute to improving the situation of women, but simply draws attention from real problems, specified as support for families and building an environment in which all life – both women and the kid – is valuable.
European countries facing the problem of low fertility and ageing societies must face a real threat - the deficiency of young generations. The Confederacy and the Law and Justice, in favour of the protection of life from conception, evoke values which are the foundations for restoring social solidarity and respect for human dignity.
The debate in the European Parliament was so not just a political dispute. It was a reminder that life is an overriding value that cannot be replaced by even the most beautiful slogans about “free choice”.
