Once the planet looked simpler, and life was great. Excursions in distant continents, an open world, global supply chains, easy moving of business around the world, global specialisation of companies, and cost optimization by searching for suppliers (best ones) miles away. An idealistic planet economy in the release of global capitalism, countries sharing the same values, orderly laws and continuous improvement and progress. In any places there were dictators and "bad countries", of course, but thanks to this, we had comedies (as in North Korea) where tragedy mingled with grotesque, but inactive we believed that everyone had to overthrow dictators sooner or later, and 1 large democratic planet is simply a necessity.
Something started to break down like this since 2014, in the news we have been tracking little and little information from the planet (the remainder began to be worse), and slow we began to close in isolated bubbles and focus only on our own backyards. At the end of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine changed everything. First closed in our homes, we stopped curious in globalisation, not flying airplanes, and each journey required tests, masks, vaccine passports, and inactive everyone switched to distant communication, due to the fact that the direct meetings were not in a good tone, and even if it ended in a multi-day quarantine. In any case, it began hidden under the coronavirus coat, the economical crisis and the slow breaking of supply chains. The factories that were expected to work for the needs of the planet have slowed down and the global exchange has become more local. Then abruptly it is unknown what the war in Ukraine has come to show the actual face of dictators.
It's not comic anymore, it's just terrible erstwhile we've seen bombarded cities all day for months, demolished buildings, murdered civilians, and raped women. Demons (who seemed to have died a long time ago) return to our homes. The planet began to match an ancient past with war announcements, bomb alarm images and geopolitics in all business element.
And besides the worst – the state of head has changed. Not only have any isolated social groups, but large communities of countries have been infected with the virus of nationalism and without brain support for killers in uniform. Ridiculous statements by dictators and their supporters, which are then repeated like a mantra and born absurd in front of our eyes, erstwhile full nations began to support crimes and dictatorship of force over reason and friendship.
The planet is changing rapidly (let's compare to something before 2014 and it's a pity we can't see old news for a while). another countries are closing down. fresh political blocks are being created – where the democratic majority begins to shrink into the EU and US zones, Russia falling into a kind of collective suicide with an effort to blow up the world, and alongside China waiting from the side (according to their proverbs “watching the fighting tigers upstairs”) and their part of the bought world. Each of them limiting trade and business outside to a minimum. The global planet is falling apart in front of us. Not only Russia, but China – in each of these countries there are interior information platforms and only interior propaganda messages. We no longer learn languages, we don't read information on the another hand, we freely swallow government news of the main channel and inside dictatorial areas information bubbles are created.
The net and social media, alternatively of creating a free and unfettered exchange of information, become a tool to fuel hatred, make fake news, and interior propaganda, possibly full of pictures of kittens (or pornography) and a planet of influencers pouring in their photos with a cup of coffee (not necessarily as a product placement). Each country (area) only creates its IT solutions so that no 1 can see a part of code (it is worth looking at interior operating systems in Iran, Russia or now in China). Each country (area) builds its factories and turns towards the autism economy. The problem in the supply of microprocessors, natural materials, grain or steel turns globalisation and puts safety as a priority, alternatively than the search for optimal costs (and you can see how cost optimization becomes an ominous tool in the hands of dictators). Europe and the US build their own factories and block the supply of advanced technologies to undemocratic states, Russia is doing what (although it is not known why), China is closing itself (it is worth reading fresh information about how it is excluded from their area of Western business – which reminds Russia a fewer years ago and even last information – the full government sector is to usage only Chinese computers and Chinese software).
The planet is full of amok all day. We perceive to the politicians of the next generation (and not only do not protest, but we are not even embarrassed) who utter full nonsense overflowing with xenophobia and hatred, and a part of society listens to it with delight. fresh military orders grow as shortly as the old weapon leaves the warehouses. The planet begins to match the more Orwellian "Year 1984", where the permanent war is fought by 3 large political and economical blocs, and no 1 is able to gain victory, and war itself is simply a goal for the complete submission of society and killing any free thought.
Where are we going? What's he gonna win? Why does this not surprise the fresh generation, and why does no 1 want to fix the planet anymore? At the moment, we do not wonder about this erstwhile we look at the screens of cells with Instagram, and summers begin, and in cinemas fresh premieres of Marvel's screening (here at least an adequate title – "in a multiverse of madness").
Globalisation inevitably goes back in front of us. It will be as we will make it – and surely so far distant from old dreams, if we do not even protest.
