Iran has purchased an officially unknown number of brand-new Yak-130s from Russia, possibly as many as 36 copies. It is believed that he has received about 8 of them so far. Their appearance was most likely to precede the appearance of fresh Su-35S combat aircraft in the Iranian Air Force. Iran presented the Yak-130 in its propaganda videos as modern machines performing air policing tasks. Already after the American-Israeli attack, videos appeared from Tehran showing a single MiG-29 patrolling over the capital and a Yak-130.
