The message by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who died during a recording released on social media from Stalowa Wola, sparked a political storm. It is the words "chapped heads" utilized in the context of criticism of opponents of government investment plans. Euro MP Waldemar Bud of Law and Justice announced that the case should be referred to the Committee on Ethics. “Did you get your head cuffed?” – Prime Minister’s words
The Prime Minister released a video online from Stalowa Wola, referring to protests and controversy surrounding the financing of investments in the arms industry. In his speech, he said:
We're in Steel Wola, which has been so loud lately. They named partyists here, raised screams, protested against the large money to go to this factory, as well as another factories of the defence manufacture in Poland. That scream is that money for Germans. I'll effort to explain it as simply as I can. Look at my mouth: 20 billion, just for this steelworks. Steel Wola, Podkarpacie, Poland. Did you get it?
The message rapidly became the subject of fierce criticism from opposition politicians.
PiS response: application for punishment
The case was referred to by the Euro MP PiS Waldemar Buda, who published a survey of the letter addressed to the Committee on Ethics.
"In light of Donald Tusk's scandalous words, I inform you that I have made a request for his punishment to the Committee on Ethics," he informed the politician.
In his message of reasons, the recording afraid ‘the financing issues of SAFE and planned investments for Huta Stalowa Wola’. As he stressed, the word utilized by the Prime Minister is offensive and "does not meet the standards of seriousness and respect which should be characteristic of the statements of the individual acting as Prime Minister and associate of the Polish Parliament".
The letter besides states: “With respect to the good name of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and respect for the dignity of others, I request that the above message be assessed in terms of compliance with the principles of parliamentary ethics. delight inform me how this announcement is considered.’
Explanations of the Prime Minister
Donald Tusk himself referred to the charges. In his next entry on social media, he explained that his words were directed at people – he said – trying to block funds for Poland.
‘The word “cuffed heads” was for those who want to block money for Poland due to deficiency of competence or simple stupidity. Those who do so in the political or financial interest of abroad countries would be much stronger," the Prime Minister wrote.
The dispute surrounding the statements of the head of government falls within the broader political conflict concerning the financing of investments in the arms sector and relations with the EU institutions. It is not yet known erstwhile the Committee on Ethics will deal with the proposal of the Euro MP of the Law and Justice.
Comment: Donald Tusk one more time showed that even though he held advanced authoritative positions in Poland and abroad for years, he is inactive an imperial boy who struggles into a branch, not a politician worthy of representing the interests of Poles.
