The origin of the gas leak in the area of Primary School No. 10 in Tczew was identified – present the Vice president of the city Andrzej Gockowski informed. He added that by the end of the week classes at the facility would be held in distant mode. The return of students to school is planned preliminary for Monday.
By noon on Monday, simple school staff sensed the distinctive odor of gas in the authorising room. The manager of the facility decided to evacuate the pupils, teachers and staff immediately and further lessons were cancelled.
The leak was caused by an inactive section of the gas connection, which in the past led the gas into the boiler area and flat in the school building. During the thermomodernization of the facility, the installation was led by another route, but the old passage – although not utilized – remained filled with gas.
