President-elect Karol Nawrocki established the fresh head of the National safety Bureau Sławomir Cenckiewicz. He is simply a prof. of history, associated with the Institute of National Memory since at least 2006, erstwhile he was appointed by the National Defence Minister Radosław Sikorski to chair the Commission for the Elimination of Military Information Services. From 2016, he served as manager of the Military Historical Office, and was besides a associate and Vice-Chairman of the IPN College from 2016 to 2021. In 2022 the professional roads of Cenckiewicz and Karol Nawrocki crossed, who was then the president of IPN - Cenckiewicz became his advisor for technological affairs. Cenckiewicz is controversial due to his participation in the committee investigating Russian influences ("Lex Tusk"), the co-authorship of the book describing Lech Wałęsa's cooperation with the SB and participation in the disclosure of secret military plans in the campaign. In 2024 SKW decided to revoke Cenckiewicz's safety certificate. "One of the reasons for withdrawing the safety message to Cenckiewicz is his disclosure of a fragment of the Polish defence strategy" - reminds the guest of the programme "OFF Czarek" - Piotr Niemczyk, safety expert and peculiar services.
