Sopot introduces halt fees on weekends. Drivers will pay more

This could be the end of free parking on weekends in Sopot. The city wants to run the Midtown Pay Parking region and collect charges for 7 days a week. The task will be voted on 19 March 2026. If the councilmen say yes, the changes will come into force on 1 May. In the background there are not only fresh rules, but besides circumstantial increases. Weekend is no longer free – Sopot halt fees have been seeking changes in regulations for years. Until recently, only large cities could charge on weekends. The June 2025 amendment abolished the 100 000 inhabitants limit. As a result, resorts specified as Sopot besides received fresh tools.
