Survey: 60% of Poles against ROG at the border

Most Poles argue the thought of the Border Defence Movement supporting the Border defender in the protection of the Polish border. According to the latest IBRiS poll for "Rzeczpospolita" as many as 60.4% of respondents believe that ROG should not defender the border. Only 34 percent of respondents are affirmative about this initiative. The movement has the top support among voters of right-wing opposition parties.

A survey conducted on 11-12 July on a group of 1071 people shows a clear social division on the function of the Border Defence Movement. Definitely against the thought is 52.3 percent of those surveyed, and another 8.1 percent indicated the answer "preferably not".

On the another hand, there are 34% of those who support the initiative - 18.8% replied "yes" and 15.2% "more or little so". The remaining 5.6 percent of the questions are not of the opinion.

Right side supports, the ruling coalition against

The analysis of the results shows clear differences in support according to political preferences. According to "Rzeczpospolita", the movement has the highest support among people with right-wing views.

As many as 67% of the survey participants who responded "yes definitely" and "more likely yes" were opposition voters - PiS, Confederacy or Together. Most surveyed in this group come from tiny and medium-sized towns, have low primary and vocational education.

Profile of supporters and opponents

Among strong supporters, men - 23 percent over women - 15 percent. The movement has the top support in age groups from 30 to 49 and among people over 70.

It is interesting that there was not a single strong supporter of the Movement in the group between 50 and 59. Supporters of ROG learn mainly from social networks, YouTube and tv Republic.

Coalition ruling unequivocally against

The thought is opposed by the vast majority of those who like parties that form part of the governing coalition. "Definitely not" in this group was answered by as many as 89.4% of respondents, and 2.2 percent chose the answer "preferably not".

Rather, only 2.5 percent of people from this electorate support the idea, and no of the respondents support it decisively. 56 percent women and 49 percent men are definitely critical.

The most opponents of ROG are among 50-year-olds with higher education, viewers of TVN and TVP, and readers of newspapers and printed weekly newspapers.
