As a consequence of a collision on Tuesday morning of a high-speed TGV train with a truck on a rail crossing in the north of France, a driver was killed and 27 people were injured, reported the local authorities and the French SNCF railways.
The accident occurred around 7:00 a.m. between Bethune and Lens Prefectures in the Pas-de- Department
- Calais.
Neither SNCF nor local authorities have been able to supply details of the circumstances of the accident. SNCF reported that the rail traffic between Bethune and Lens would be halted at least until tonight.
Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot reported on platform X that he was going to the scene along with SNCF president Jean Castex.
