Slovakia: extremists defeated!

myslpolska.info 1 year ago

The results of the parliamentary elections announced present around 5 a.m. brought a strong surprise to those who believed in the 2 alleged exit polls published yesterday (by 2 tv stations – public and private).

Yesterday after the closing of the polling stations, champagne was opened in the run office of the Progressive Slovakia (PS) party, which was to beat the opposition SMER – Social Democracy (SMER-SD) Robert Fico minimally. Today, however, it came to light that with a solid turnout (nearly 70%), the organization of Robert Fico SMER was a clear triumphant.

The extremists from the PS (they request the legalization of drugs, a 100 percent adjustment of beer and another madness in the spirit of modern totalitarian ecological and genderist ideologies) survived a strong profession this morning. They will have 10 seats little than the winning SMER in the National Council (single parliament). They'll most likely be in opposition.

SMER has the chance to construct a majority of 79 MPs, along with the HLAS organization and the National organization (National Party).

It is so amazing to see rather a defeat of the PS, which in any pre-election polls (the second before the voter silence) was to precede the favoured SMER and the election to win. PS is simply a political movement from which the current president of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová derives. This – if she does not want to – will gotta entrust Robert Fico with the mission of creating a fresh government, as he not only won, but has a real chance for a majority.

Fico announced in the election run (if he won) a full change of course in abroad policy issues – including, for example, not supporting Ukraine militarily. Another rather strong component of its abroad policy is Slovakia's exit from the EU if it eliminates veto law.

SMER is simply a socialist organization with strong elements of national and conservative politics (similar in many respects to PiS). It is worth recalling that at the time of Covid Fico was possibly the only politician with specified strong support who uncompromisingly criticized all Covid bans and warrants. In another countries (except Sweden and Belarus), the opposition usually supported restrictions by demanding even larger ones.

Fico is simply a politician able to get sympathy for the "simple people", i.e. he is simply a guarantor of any stableness (social), defence of national interests and normality in terms of opposition to all ideological novelties (conservative cultural-civilization values). Disputes, for Slovakia, the gain of the SMER party's votes is most likely the effect of mobilizing an electorate, which can be described as a "normal grey man" (simplifying), which this time defeated the municipal electorate (also heavy mobilized). voting for Progressive Slovakia.

If Fico truly takes the lead of the fresh Slovak government, 1 can anticipate an angry attack of the national opposition, but mostly of the Brussels elite – for them all Fico is synonymous with evil, retrospect and dark garden.
