The US military command in Africa conducted air exercises close the Libyan city of Sirte in late February. It is home to 1 of the bases of the Russian military formation Wagner Group. According to the Italian news agency Agenzia Nova, Washington sent a signal to Moscow that it does not agree to strengthening Russian influence in the North African country.
