On Saturday evening, RMF FM reported that the ultimate Court had left with no further run nearly 40,000 electoral protests based on a pattern prepared by Roman Gierty. At night, however, SN spokesmen confirmed that the full number of alleged "giereckiów" reached 49,598, and they were all subject to formal defects.
The protests were registered in the home of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs under the signature of I NSW 208/25. In its communication, the ultimate Court stated:
"This protest was made utilizing a model developed by Mr Roman Giertych, who, via the Internet, prompted this model, as his electoral protest, many thousands of voters."
At the same time, the SN stressed that:
"In case I NSW 208/25, the allegations of 49,598 identical electoral protests were referred to, leaving them without further running."
The rejection of protests dictated primarily:
- the deficiency of a appropriate punishment instruction clause for a false statement,
- mistakes in individual data (including copying the MP's PESEL number alternatively of own).
SN besides explained that, in addition to the main group of ‘gerries’, smaller categories of writings were received:
"In addition to identical protests echoing Roman Giertych's example, very many voters sent brief statements declaring their support for the “Roman Giertych protest”. These short writings, sometimes filed on scraps of paper, were not attached to the mentioned group of 49,598 protests... They shall be considered separately.”
These papers besides included printouts of email instructions from the Member, containing only procedural guidance, without concrete allegations of the validity of the elections.
Protests according to Wawrykiewicz's model
Several 1000 protests were prepared on the basis of the model of Euro MP Michał Wawrykiewicz. SN reported:
"Protests taken together under the signature of the 1st NSW 1371/25 were drawn up on the basis of the model of associate of the European Parliament Michał Wawrykiewicz. 3,960 identical electoral protests were examined under this signature. They, too, were left without further aggress on 27 June 2025."
Roman Giertych's reaction
Roman Gierty stressed that his own full protest had been made separately and that he was inactive waiting for his substantive consideration:
"Our protest was directed to the ultimate Court, not to the House, whose position of SN, TSUE and ETPC are inactive being questioned. Our protest has not been recognized.”
What's next?
By 1 July, the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs is to issue a final ruling on the validity of the presidential election. Until then, another individual protests and requests for annulment of results in another models will be examined.
The mass scale of rejected protests highlighted the need:
- standardisation of authoritative models of papers available on the courts’ websites,
- shortening the deadlines for protesting,
- the digitisation of electoral protocols.
The opposition stresses the request to introduce clear guidelines to avoid any further "fictions". The government camp points out that the resolution of the SN clearly confirms the correctness of last year's elections. Regardless of political disputes, the issue of mass rejection shows how crucial formal precision is in the process of protecting electoral law.
