SWORDS- A Ryanair (FR) flight from Manchester Airport (MAN) to Málaga Airport (AGP) makes emergency landing after a passenger became unwell mid air.
The Boeing 737-8200, operating as flight FR3208, made an emergency landing at Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD) in France to allow medical teams to attend the passenger.

The incident occurred on September 18 when Ryanair flight FR3208 departed Manchester at approximately 9 PM local time. The flight was scheduled to land at Málaga (AGP) in southern Spain.
Around one hour and 20 minutes into the journey, the crew declared a medical emergency after a passenger suddenly fell ill. At 10:20 PM, the pilot squawked the emergency code, alerting French air traffic controllers.
Following established international protocols, the aircraft was granted priority landing rights and redirected to Bordeaux.
Medical teams were placed on standby to meet the Boeing 737 on arrival. The passenger was swiftly disembarked and transported to a nearby hospital.
The diversion added a delay of several hours for passengers on board. However, the airline confirmed that the disruption was kept to a minimum.
After medical clearance and refueling, the flight departed Bordeaux a couple of hours later, resuming its route and landing in Málaga later the same night.
According to Manchester Evening News, details of the passenger’s current condition have not been released, but Ryanair stated that immediate treatment was made possible thanks to the crew’s quick response and coordination with airport authorities.

In a statement, Ryanair confirmed the medical diversion, noting that the crew contacted Bordeaux Airport ahead of landing to ensure paramedics were waiting at the gate. The airline emphasized that passenger safety and wellbeing remain its highest priority.
