Grzegorz Rodzikowski, author of books on Russian influences and manager of the investigation Centre for Disinformation Collegium Civitas, has been studying the mechanisms of political manipulation and propaganda for years. In his opinion, many events in Polish politics are part of a process that can lead to a strategical weakening of the state.
"Nothing happens by itself"
Rodzikowski emphasises that it is crucial to look at politics in a broader context.
– I would like to encourage our fellow countrymen to think that nothing happens by itself, that everything has its causes and effects," she says.
He adds that in Poland besides frequently negative consequences are the consequence of actions of people who in rhetoric mention to patriotism and national values.

The expert emphasizes that the most crucial thing in policy analysis is not the individual connections, but the effects of circumstantial decisions.

In his opinion, many fresh actions in the field of state safety benefit 1 player in the first place.
– This is all in the interests of surely not Poland and not the European Union, but it is in the interests of Russia – he estimates.
Russian strategy: division and radicalisation
Rodzikowski points out that 1 of the biggest successes of the Kremlin in Europe is strengthening utmost political environments. As an example, he gives increasing support to extremist politicians.
– This is the top evidence of Russia's success in Poland," he says, pointing to the emergence in the importance of the far right in public debate.
According to him, disinformation and manipulation of social emotions play a key role. The expert warns that ignoring these processes may have serious consequences.
– If we do not want to lose our statehood, we must learn lessons here and now," he stresses.
