The gathering was attended by an envoy of Kremlin, Kirił Dmitriev, while the American side was represented by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Dmitryev assessed the Saturday talks as constructive, but Pieskov stressed that this is inactive a pending trial and cannot be considered a landmark gathering in Miami.
The gathering in Miami took place shortly after negotiations in Berlin with Ukraine and Witkoff and Kushner, as well as after a summit in the capital of Germany, during which European leaders announced that the US and Europe had undertaken to cooperate in providing Ukraine with safety guarantees after the end of the war.
Putin's goals unchanged
According to the information provided last week by the Reuters agency, citing six anonymous sources, Putin's goals in the war against Ukraine stay unchanged – the Russian president continues to search to take over the full territory of Ukraine and to recover parts of the erstwhile European lands that erstwhile belonged to the russian bloc.
In his interview with journalists, Pieskov stated that Moscow cannot measure the reliability of the sources cited by Reuters. He added that if this information was true, the U.S. intelligence's conclusions were wrong.
U.S. National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard, reported on Sunday that according to U.S. services, Russia does not have the capacity to occupy Ukraine or carry out an attack on Europe.
20% of Ukraine under Russian control
According to the agency Reuters, Russia presently controls almost 20% of Ukraine's territory, including Crimea, Lugansk, over 80% of the Donetsk region, about 75% of the Chersonia and Zaporozhia areas, and tiny fragments of the Kharkiv, Sumsky, Mikołajov and Djepropetrovsk circuits.
