Russian propaganda takes on a fresh form. As the illegalist alerts, a disinformation run is taking over Polish women's accounts in social media.
Russia's fresh propaganda flourishes in the Polish network
The aim is to spread false content hitting Ukrainians surviving in Poland and to incite social resentment towards refugees.
As described in the portal, hackers gain access to profiles most frequently thanks to phishing, breaking weak passwords, or impersonating service support. After taking over the account, they print manipulated announcements: frequently of social colour or rivalry with the Poles, suggesting the superiority of Ukrainians. These posts are carefully designed to stimulate emotions and divisions.
One example is, "I am 26 years old and came to Poland from Ukraine a fewer months ago. I would love to meet a good man from Poland who will show me any of this country. I assure you of myself that I will be better than the women here, take care of myself, keep my diet and train a lot, which cannot be said of others – I will be the best choice for you. I cook well, so I'll always have dinner waiting for you erstwhile you get back from work. I never have a headache either if you know what I mean" as quoted by the Lawless Portal (original post spelling).
After this, know the false entry
Although the accounts look authentic, they have a history, photos and a group of friends, their activity rapidly betrays automation: mass publications, content generated by artificial intelligence, changing profile data, as well as distinctive language errors, proof of device translation.
As a result, hundreds and thousands of aggressive comments appear under specified posts, and the propaganda effect is achieved.
Importantly, due to specified a strong inflow of misinformation recently, the Ministry of Digitisation and NASK called for caution: each time we verify the sources of information, do not share material from untested accounts, and let the messages of liable services be considered the only proven origin of truth.
