Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski announced a breakthrough in peace negotiations after a "best ever" gathering with Donald Trump in the White House. The American president called Vladimir Putin during the Monday summit with 7 European leaders, according to PAP.
"We are certain the war will end. It is very crucial for us that this is not a break in fights, but a real peace that can be protected by guarantees of the safety of our partners" - said Zelenski. The U.S. website prepared a detailed map of Ukraine presenting the current situation on the front, as reported by PAP.
Safety guarantees priority
The central subject of Monday talks was safety guarantees for Ukraine after the conflict ended. The US sends a clear signal of its willingness to participate in the warrant system, as Zelenski assessed as a "big step forward", according to PAP. Within 10 days, details of global safeguards for Ukraine are to be provided.
The Financial Times revealed a proposal to acquisition US weapons worth $100 billion from European funds as part of a safety warrant package. Money.pl informs that this proposal has sparked affirmative reactions in the markets where oil prices have fallen in anticipation of stabilising the situation.
Negotiation format without conditions
The Russian side proposed a two-stage negotiation format - first the bilateral gathering Putin-Zelenski, later the tripartite talks with the US. "We are ready for all formats on the leader level (...) I confirmed that we're ready to meet Putin bilaterally. And then we hope for a tripartite meeting" - stated the Ukrainian president in accordance with PAP.

Territorial and humanitarian issues
