Soldiers of the 4th Warmia-Masurian Territorial Defence Brigade visited the heroes of fighting for Poland's independence. Among them were soldiers of the Home Army, Warsaw Insurgents and Siberians who erstwhile did not hesitate to fight for freedom of homeland and would surely do so today. Many of these people, despite their age, inactive cultivate the spirit of conflict and patriotism. The territorials in Warmia and Mazury take care of nearly 30 combatants with whom they keep in contact.
Actions 4 of the Warmia-Masurian Territorial Defence Brigade for the combatants are systematic and long-term. They besides include assistance in everyday matters. The Territorials emphasize that care for veterans is not just an obligation, but besides a concern for their predecessors.
The combatants play a peculiar function in building the ethos of military service and shaping patriotic attitudes of younger generations of soldiers. Above all, it is the soldiers of the National Army – the traditions of its units continues WOT.
Direct meetings, talks and joint participation in historical events let to convey values specified as responsibility, sacrifice and service to the Homeland. Maintaining relations with the combatants strengthens the identity of the brigade and reminds that the modern military service is simply a continuation of the experiences and traditions of those who fought for Poland's independence.
4 Warmia-Masurian Territorial Defence Brigade has more than 3.5 1000 soldiers, serving in sub-units located throughout the voivodship. These are battalions and companies in Olsztyn, Braniew, Morag, Giżyck and Elk. The soldiers of all these divisions care about the combatants surviving close their station.
