The first gathering of the committee was held on 14 January. As a consequence of the election, Mr Tomasz Nałęcz (UP) was appointed president and his deputy MPs Bohdan Kopczyński (LPR) and Bogdan Lewandowski (SLD). Members of the group included: Jerzy Szteliga (SLD), Ryszard Kalisz (SLD) – then replaced by Anita Blochowiak (SLD), Stanisław Rydzoń (SLD), Jan Rokita (PO), Zbigniew Ziobro (PiS), Józef Szczepańczyk (PSL), Piotr Smalana (Samoobrona) – shortly replaced by Renata Beger (Samoobrona), and then by John the Combined (Samoobrona).
The Commission completed its work on 5 April 2004. On that day, a study by Anita Blochowiak was voted against by the President. The paper states that the ‘holding group’ did not be and movie maker Lew Rywin made Michnik a corrupt proposal in his own name.
On 24 September 2004, the minutes went to a parliamentary vote and were rejected. The study by Mr Ziobra (231/169/2 votes) was adopted in his place.
