Let's see how the world's population changes. Everything will be stable, only Africa shoots up. A billion people will be there any minute.
Children in China or Europe will be small more than 1 kid per woman. In Chad, Somalia or Ethiopia, this rate is now over 4.
Will Africa feed all these people?
I don't think so.
Does Europe deal with this problem?
Perhaps, but this is not an issue that the media would discuss.
There is only 1 way to halt immigration from Africa. People must be much richer. Let's look at China with a declining population. What is the reason? Well, the Chinese have become rich adequate and educated adequate to like another pleasures than children.
The most crucial component that could save Africa (and at the same time Europe) is education in Africa. For example, many Polish scientists/teachers would like to go to Africa for a fewer years, having a good wage and well equipped schools.
The problem is that European countries are little and little able to teach others because... they themselves kill education in their countries.
