Marriage according to the Central Statistical Office. We get married little frequently and we get divorced little often

Last year, according to the latest CSO data, 133 1000 married couples married more than 2 1000 little than a year earlier. This decrease can be combined with a decrease in the number of Poles in general. At the end of 2025, the population of Poland was 37.3 million. That's about 157,000 little than a year ago. This is how the number of married couples in the last 10 years has fallen by 30%. In 2014 there were over 188,4 1000 marriages, including 118,2 1000 religions (in churches or spiritual unions and registered in civilian position offices).In 2024 this number decreased to 135,4 1000 marriages, including more than 59.7 1000 religions. At that time 58.9 1000 married couples were included in the Catholic Church. On the another hand, the number of marriages in the Catholic Church has fallen by half. According to the Yearbook Institute of statistic of the Catholic Church, 132 1000 sacraments of matrimony were given in 2014. In 2024, half as much as 68.2 thousand.In 2024, the most married couples were included in: the Archdiocese of Krakow – 4297, the Diocese of Tarnowska – 3917, the Archdiocese of Katowice – 3886. The lowest marriages are included in:Drohiczyńska diocese – 634, Bydgoszcz – 660,elbląska – 682. The average age of newlyweds grows all year the age of those who decide to marry. In 2014, men married around 29 years old, women – 27 years old.In 10 years – by 2024 – the average age importantly increased. Men were married at the age of 32, women – about 30 years old. However, according to CSO data, city residents are married on average 2 years later than agrarian residents. Divorces are besides decreasing. According to the Central Statistical Office of 2014, there were 65,7 1000 of them, in 2015 – 67,2 thousand, in 2016 – 63,5 thousand, in 2020 – 51,000, in 2024 – 57,4 1000 married couples, in 2025 – 61 thousand.In 2024, the most divorces were recorded in Mazowieckie Voivodeship (8565), least in Świętokrzyskie state (868). City dwellers divorce nearly 3 times more than agrarian residents. But the age of divorced spouses has increased. In 2024, men were 44 years old, women were 41 years old. That's 5-6 years more than the divorce in 2000.
