Erdogan announced the composition of the fresh government. Is the economical revolution coming?
President Erdogan announced the composition of the fresh government. The fresh Minister of Finance and Treasury is to be Mehmet Şimşek – Deputy Prime Minister in 2015-2018 and close associate of Ali Babacan (this in turn was liable for many economical successes of Turkey from Erdogan's first years of rule).
Commentators say that the presence of Şimşek in government means a real economical revolution. Şimşek is to rise interest rates and bring the Turkish economy “on a straight”. The markets, however, went far adequate to nominate it, and thus the Turkish lira continues to lose value.
There are besides major changes in another ministries. The Minister of abroad Affairs will be held by Hakan Fidan, the erstwhile head of MIT intelligence. On the another hand, İbrahim Kalın (the President's spokesperson to date) will presume the position of Head of MIT.
Outside the government, there were specified influential politicians as Hulusi Akar (the erstwhile Minister of Defence), Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu (b. the head of the MFA), and Süleyman Soylu (b. the head of the MFA).
The composition of the government indicates that Erdogan's absolute precedence will be to heal the economical situation in the country. In erstwhile years, the president has already made many claims in the government or in the Central Bank and announced that the economical situation will improve and yet only ended with empty promises. That is why the fresh composition of the government belongs, in my opinion, to a distance approach and to wait for the first fruits of its work.
