Due to Russian drone activity in the west Ukraine Polish and allied aviation began operations in Polish airspace; there are fighters and a chopper in the air, and the ground systems are in the state of highest readiness – stated this afternoon the Operations Command of Types of Armed Forces.
DORSZ's message has been transmitted on social media this afternoon; reports have previously appeared of massive raids of Russian drones on Ukraine and attacks, among others, in the center of Lviv.
"In view of the activity of Russian unmanned aircraft of the Shahed kind in the western part of Ukraine, the operation of Polish and allied aviation in our airspace has begun" - said Command. As indicated, the resources at the disposal of DORSZ were launched – fighters and chopper were in the air, and ground-based air defence and reconnaissance systems were put on advanced alert.
‘These activities are preventive and targeted at securing and protecting airspace, in peculiar in areas adjacent to susceptible areas. The RSZ Operations Command monitors the current situation, and the subordinate forces and resources stay ready to respond immediately," the Command notes.
Previously, Command reported an air raid on Tuesday early in the morning, in the face of Russia's night raids into Ukraine.
