Making war comedies in Poland was like walking on thin ice. War traumas were inactive fresh, and authoritative propaganda was full of pathos towards planet War II. respective Polish filmmakers (including Wiech) took a hazard and it turned out that it was possible to laughter at war without hurting public feelings.
