Polish and allied aviation has been put on advanced alert in consequence to the intense activities of Russian long-range aviation. The hijacked fighters and activated air defence systems are intended to guarantee safety at NATO's east borders.
Due to the intensive activity of long-range aviation by the Russian Federation, which is causing impacts on the facilities located, among others, in the west of Ukraine, the operation of Polish and allied aviation in our airspace began - stated the Operations Command of Types of Armed Forces on Friday morning. "In accordance with applicable procedures, the operational commander of the RFA has activated all available forces and resources at his disposal. On-call hunting pairs were picked up, and ground air defence and radio-location systems reached the highest readiness. The steps taken are aimed at ensuring safety in areas bordering the affected areas. The Operational Command of the RSZ monitors the current situation, and the subordinate forces and resources stay full ready to respond immediately" - says the Communication of the Operational Command of the MSZ.
