President Karol Nawrocki assured in a letter to the participants of the ceremony in Mościska in Ukraine that Poland would always hold the memory of soldiers who died in September 1939 in defence of Lviv.
The remains of Polish military were exhumed in August of that year. They came from Zboisk, where Colonel's troops fought. Stanisława Maczka, and the cemetery there was later liquidated by russian authorities. The president stressed that the present burial allows worthyly to honor the heroes and preserve their will for future generations.
In a letter to the participants of the ceremony in Mościska in Ukraine, where soldiers were buried, the president stressed that the soldiers' graves were a symbol of the highest sacrifice: “Poland remembers them and will remember them forever” - wrote the President.
President Nawrocki besides recalled that the defence of Lviv was 1 of the key moments of the 1939 campaign.
