Pelosi assures U.S. won't abandon Taiwanese

“My visit shows that the US will not abandon its commitments to Taiwan; we will defend democracy from authoritarianism,” said president of the home of Representatives Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday after gathering Taiwan president Caj Ing-wen. The U.S. congressional delegation with Pelosi besides spoke with Vice president Lai Ching-te and abroad Minister Joseph Wu.
