President's Message: Governmenters can improvement public media, but this must be done legally

President Andrzej Duda delivered a message on fresh Year's Eve.

“We are dealing with a fresh situation in Polish politics. The president and the government are from another political camps. It's average in democracy. But in democracy 1 must respect the Constitution, the principles of the regulation of law and good political customs," said Duda. "Unfortunately, in fresh days, a government coalition trying to take over public media has broken these rules. For the first time in free Poland after 1989 there was an effort to take over public media force, the tv signal of any channels was disabled, and information programs ceased broadcasting. Finally, Polish Television, Polish Radio and Polish Press Agency were put in liquidation.

– I would like to make this clear: the rulers can improvement public media, but this must be done legally. I have always been and I am open to specified a discussion about legal changes. On my part, however, there will never be approval to violate the Constitution.
