Although in the nationwide press the Agency for Military Property is celebrated primarily for the sale of post-military sparse, the unit turns billions of PLN and realizes investments that are crucial for the military, but besides the most crucial allies of Poland in NATO. Suffice to say that for 2026 about PLN 200 million was planned for housing infrastructure for soldiers and more than PLN half a billion for investments in defence and state security.
"Army sells cars from a demobile", "War sells real estate", "Excellents from a demo" – these are respective headlines that can be seen in the media. And it's not just those military sacrifices. Spectacular prices, but besides different products known from the army act as a magnet. This is demonstrated by the fact that in 2025 the customers of the online store AMW were most likely to buy tarp bags for equipment, after a simplification sold respective zlotys. They were so popular that you can no longer get them.
However, the peculiar image and popularity of the goods, which is available in the Military Property Agency, do not translate into just sales results or titles in the media. The Facebook profile of AMW watches 80,000 net users, of which 26.6 1000 joined last year. And the memes with the Honkers offered by the Agency have already entered pop culture.
One can boldly argue that AMW was a victim of its own success. Although the Department of Military Investment of the Military Property Agency is liable for tasks covering a full of more than 120 ha of space for the fresh military infrastructure for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and a full of more than 110 ha of space for the fresh military infrastructure for the Allied forces, the institution is inactive seen by the prism of the demobility. It is simply a unique model of cooperation across NATO: it combines Polish regulations and investor with American method specifications and allied task management processes.
– Among the tasks assigned to us were 2 of the largest projects for the US Armed Forces under the PPI programme and it is worth mentioning that both of them have already been completed", says Anna Skowrońska. It is about building the mobile air base system, which is valued at around €140 million. It covers more than respective 100 1000 cubic metres of warehouse space, medical facilities, vehicle service halls and fuel distribution systems. It is presently the key logistics and operational HUB of the US Air Force in Europe.
The strategical investments made to the US Army Europe and Africa include the construction of a fuel warehouse with 3 tanks – about 2 million litres each, along with service systems, rail and road infrastructure. In total, the facility is worth nearly EUR 60 million.
Fuel and retention systems for allied troops
It is worth remembering that the activities of the AMW Military Investment Department are not only projects related to cooperation with Americans. all day, within NATO, the agency cooperates with the Norwegian Defence Estates Agency and the United Kingdom Defence Infrastructure Organisation.
Military Property Agency for the Polish Army
Alliance commitments are important, but the precedence is the Polish Army. – DIW AMW is liable for building buildings with a full area of more than 100 1000 m2 for the needs of our armed forces. New properties for soldiers in Legionów
Let us not forget the another statutory tasks of agencies, specified as securing housing facilities for the army. – We carry out residential investments in the majority on the basis of contractors selected in tender procedures. Consequently, the number of affirmative decisions of proceedings concluded with the signing of contracts for the implementation of the documentation phase of construction works depends on marketplace conditions – explains Piotr Płocha, Deputy manager of the Investment and Repair Department of AMW.
