The energy minister reported fresh maximum fuel prices. They will apply on Friday. The announcement informs that the price per litre of petrol 95 will not exceed PLN 6.41, a litre of petrol 98 will cost no more than PLN 6.90, and a litre of diesel will pay a maximum of PLN 7.17. This means that the maximum prices at the fuel stations will fall in relation to those on Thursday.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Energy, it publishes a maximum fuel prices announcement on working days. Maximum price valid from the day following its publication in the Polish Monitor.
If announced before days off from work and holidays, the rate valid until the next working day inclusive. Sales above the maximum price is threatened with a punishment of up to PLN 1 millionand the National taxation Administration conducts the checks.

The maximum price shall be determined according to the circumstantial formula, covering the average wholesale price of fuels on the home market, plus excise duty, fuel charge, sales margin of 0,30 PLN per litre and VAT.
By 15 May there is simply a regulation reducing VAT on fuel from 23 to 8 percent. and a regulation reducing excise duty. Excise is reduced by 29 grams per litre of petrol and 28 grams per litre of diesel, i.e. to the lowest level authorised by the European Union.
