The investigation and improvement Centre of Mechanical Devices reported that in late December another bridge accompanying MS-20 Daglesia was placed in service in the Polish Army. These modern structures, based on the Jelcz chassis, will strengthen the mobility of troops. They offer awesome burden capacity and can operate caterpillar vehicles weighing up to 77 t and wheeled vehicles weighing up to 120.5 t.
The contract in question was signed in October 2023 and includes 43 accompanying bridges delivered between 2025 and 2028 for about PLN 767 million with simulators, training and logistics packages. In the second half of 2025, the investigation and improvement Centre of Mechanical Devices provided Polish military with procedural simulators.
Now it's time for bridges. MS-20 Daglesia, which consist of a saddle tractor (Jelcz C662D.43 6 × 6) and a hydraulic transport trailer with a stacker and bridge column (PM-20). A fewer months ago, OBRUM reported that the PM-20 bay was certified for increased burden capacity to 85/133 MLC. In practice PM-20 can now operate caterpillar vehicles up to 77 t (MLC85) and wheeled vehicles up to 120.5 t (MLC133).
OBRUM emphasises that this is simply a crucial increase compared to erstwhile MLC70/110 limits. The width of the bridge roadway in working mode is 4 m (3 m in transport). At its own weight of nearly 48 t, Daglesia can scope a maximum velocity of 80 km/h.
MS-20 is simply a solution that strengthens the mobility of troops, cooperates with the heaviest equipment of the Polish and NATO armed forces, increases the safety of soldiers and responds to the requirements of the modern battlefield. Daglesia allows you to cross obstacles 20 m wide. It takes only 2 soldiers (driver and operator) to handle the bridge, and the full cross-country readiness of MS-20 reaches in little than 30 minutes.
The first deliveries of serial MS-20 bridges for the Polish army ended in 2017. respective Daglesia have besides been exported (Vietnam), and in fresh years the MS-20 strategy has been upgraded in terms of actuator control, reliability and functionality.
"The modern battlefield poses fresh challenges for us, so we are intensively examining the possibilities of developing fresh bridge structures, including storm bridges on the caterpillar chassis," he stressed after December delivery.
