New service in mCitizen. From February 5, everyone will benefit from it

Only in January did we inform about a fresh feature in a government application that allows users to change or unlock PIN codes in the application. Let the fact that another fresh functionality has been launched on February 5. The application provides a government safety Guide.

Earlier, the guides were delivered to 16 million households, leaving them in mailboxes. From now on, you can always have a guide. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitization Krzysztof Gawkowski and Minister of Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński held a press conference during which the first politician declared:

– Last year, Polish and Poles logged in to the mCitizen app on average 1.5 million times a day, which shows that it has become 1 of the key channels of communication between the state and citizens. This is why we supply a Digital safety guide – reliable, proven information that is always available. This is not an emergency signal, but an component of modern civic education. We want everyone to know how to respond decently to different situations.

Marcin Kierwiński, on the another hand, said that this is simply a guide prepared for "difficult times". The modern form of a guide is intended to let "easy absorption of information and consequence in crisis situations". “This is an crucial step due to the fact that the government sees many years of neglect in building social resilience to hard situations, and now we are making up for these delays,” said the head of the Ministry of Interior.

Digital safety guide in mCitizen

The safety guide contains the most crucial information on handling different situations. This is the digital equivalent of the version that went to the mailboxes. The reception was then... mixed, as my editorial colleague Aleksandra Tchorzewska wrote about. But knowing how to take care of safety – yours or your loved ones – is truly worth it. And in the digital version of the guide we will find 5 subpages, namely:

safety rules,

an evacuation backpack,

alarm signals,

SOS numbers,

It's a disturbing situation.

And possibly any of the above can be checked online, but I appreciate that reliable information will be available (or even in the hand, in the smartphone). Thanks to this, all user of mCitizen will be able to check what to do and what not to do in a crisis situation, what to pack in an evacuation backpack (a list with the ability to hack or PDF file to make will be made available), and besides perceive to alarm signals and find out what they mean. The government application will besides tell us where to apply for aid in certain cases, as well as indicate what incidents should be reported to the applicable services.

– This guide was developed by the best Polish specialists, including service representatives, paramedics, experts in crisis management and consequence to specified situations. The guide forces us to check whether we are prepared for crisis situations, both in our home and in our immediate surroundings. Although we hope they won't take place, we must be ready, due to the fact that in our uncertain planet specified situations happen – Marcin Kierwiński said.
