Lech Parell, the recently appointed Head of the Office for Combatants and Represented Persons (UdSKYOR), announced present the composition of the fresh Anti-communist Opposition Council. Among the selected were Krzysztof Król, erstwhile politician of the Confederation of Independent Poland (KPN) and activist of the Committee for Democracy Defence (KOD).
The king was celebrated on social media for his controversial statements on Poland's past and politics, which sparked a wave of comments and criticism.
Criticism from erstwhile head of UdSKYOR
The King's nomination met with the harsh reaction of John Joseph Kaspak, erstwhile head of the UdSKYOR, who publically criticized this choice on platform X (formerly Twitter). Kasprzyk expressed his outrage, stressing that among the thousands of eligible activists, the choice had just fallen upon a individual with specified a controversial reputation.
"Nominat Tuska in the Office for Combatants Lech Parell established a fresh Council for Anti-communist Opposition activists. Of the respective 1000 eligible, he chose, among others, Krzysztof Król" – Kasprzyk wrote.
Scandalous statements on social media
The king is known for his sharp and frequently scandalous comments on social media. He accused St. Maximilian Kolbe of anti-Semitism and besides criticized the National Army Major Bogusław Nizieński, the Nestor of the Kombatan communities and Chancellor of the Order of the White Eagle.

Public opinion divided on UdSKYOR
Lech Parella's decision divided the public. Supporters of the King emphasize his commitment and courage to express his views, while opponents point to disrespect for historical figures and controversial methods of action.
In June 2018, the King participated in the establishment of the civilian Committee initiated by Lech Walesa. He became head of the Executive Committee of that organisation. In November, he was the head of the Association of the Section-State in charge of Justice in Poland, and became the editor-in-chief of the service of Panstwo-pis.pl published by this association. He is an active participant, among others, in demonstrations organised by the highest authorities of the Civic Platform.
