Two people suspected of spying for Russian intelligence were detained in the west of Germany and in the southeast of Spain – the national prosecutor in Karlsruhe present reported. The detainees were to analyse a drone supplier for Ukraine in Germany.
The detainees were a 45-year-old Romanian citizen, captured in Rheine, North Rhine-Westphalia, and a 43-year-old Ukrainian citizen, detained in the city of Elda in the Spanish state of Alicante.
The German D.A. accuses both of them of spying. According to investigators, Ukrainians have been watching in Germany since December 2025 a drone supplier for Ukraine. For this purpose, he collected information online and recorded the workplace.
