British police reported that 32-year-old Anthony Williams of Peterborough heard 10 counts of attempted execution after a Saturday knife attack on the Doncaster–London King’s Cross account train. He was besides charged with bodily harm and having a sharp tool.
The assailant was detained by armed officers at Huntingdon Station, Cambridgeshire, just 8 minutes after the first call to 999. With him, a 35-year-old boy from London was in custody, but was released after uncovering that he had no connection to the case. The motives of the attack stay unknown.
The British Transport Police reported that of the 11 injured 1 individual – a railway individual who tried to halt the attacker – is inactive in critical condition. Deputy Chief BTP Stuart Cundy called his heroic behaviour and stressed that he managed to save the lives of many passengers.
