These places in Warsaw are better avoided. There's a police announcement.
"On Wednesday, 6 August, public gatherings were reported in the area of the National Army and the Polish Underground State monument, in front of the Sejm building at 4/6/8 Wiejska Street, and on advanced Silesian Street, Beautiful to Ujazdowski Avenue, and in Ujazdowski Avenues from Beautiful to 3 Cross Square" – a message from the capital police was given.
At 11:15 p.m., a way is planned: Wiejska – via the Square of the 3 Crosses – Nowy Świat – Krakowskie Przedmieście to the building at ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 46/48 and then to the Castle Square.
Another march will take the route: Matejki Street – Ujazdowski Avenue – 3 Cross Square – Nowy Świat – Krakowskie Przedmieście, ending in front of the Presidential Palace.
Police indicated that "in the absence of the anticipation of crossing the buses of the line: 106, 107, 111, 116, 117, 118, 127, 128, 131, 158, 159, 160, 166, 171, 175, 178, 180, 190, 503, 507, 517, 521, E-2 and trams of the line 4, 7, 9, 13, 20, 23, 22, 25, 26 will be diverted to detour routes".
Due to the celebrations, drivers and passengers of public transport must prepare for major changes:
Between 14:00 and 20:00 the streets of Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat will be closed for traffic – from Miodowa Street to Świętokrzyska Street.
From 15:00 to 18:00, the square march will be switched off from traffic. Józef Piłsudski and the streets of Foch, Molier, Wierzbów and Król – from Marszałkowska Street to Krakowskie Przedmieście Street.
"Buses lines 106, 107, 111, 116, 128, 175, 178, 180, 503 will be diverted to detours" – we read.
Police call on citizens
Capital police officers will guarantee the safety of all the convention participants, residents of the capital, drivers and people who will arrive in Warsaw that day. Road traffic officers will be present at the most crucial points of the city. Their task will be to steer traffic and to indicate an alternate way of detours.
They will keep an eye on police officers in uniform and in civilians. Their presence is intended to guarantee that the celebrations go smoothly. Uniforms stress that in the event of a violation of the law their consequence will be decisive.
