President Karol Nawrocki vetoed the bill to make the Lower Oder Valley National Park. According to the Chancellery of the president of the Republic of Poland, the decision was made "out of concerns about possible restrictions on economical improvement of the region". Part of the technological community disagrees with the veto. Biology and Ecologist Dr hab. Wiktor Kotowski of the University of Warsaw emphasizes that the President's arguments are not justified in facts.
