The Peace Council has been 1 of the main themes in Polish politics for respective weeks now, and in the last fewer days we have been able to observe its verbal skirmishes on the President-Prime Minister line. On Thursday, February 19, a gathering was scheduled in Washington, D.C., which was initiated by Donald Trump. Charles Nawrocki received the invitation, but whether he will go to the US, it is inactive unknown. The subject was discussed in an interview with Senator KO Krzysztof Kwiatkowski in the program "Tlit". The politician has allowed himself to have a certain contact on the president.
Senator KO Krzysztof Kwiatkowski piques about president Karol Nawrocki
Senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski hosted Michał Wróblewski in the program "Tlit". The leader asked the politician whether president Karol Nawrocki should attend the Peace Council meeting, scheduled for 19 February in the US. KO typical replied:
– Where would I dare [advise]. The president is so tense about all the suggestions, the delicate attention of the Prime Minister, that if the president wants to fly there, of course he can go there.
Krzysztof Kwiatkowski then recalled that for this minute the government "is not in favour of starting the procedure of joining this organization for very many reasons". At the same time, the Senator added that the president has the right to attend the Donald Trump Peace Council gathering as a guest.
He mentioned that according to the President's Chancellery, the head of state would like to receive any suggestions for an opinion on the Council of Peace in writing, e.g. as part of a government resolution.
– Of course, specified a decision can be expressed not only by the position of the Prime Minister but besides by a formal resolution of the Council of Ministers. But then let the president – in accordance with the regulations which govern it in Poland – make a formal proposal to the Council of Ministers that he is in favour of joining [the Council of Peace]. Why does he not make specified a formal proposal? I am convinced that specified a formal application is not made, due to the fact that he would gotta justify it, this is the procedure, why the Polish state is right, the Polish interest is in favour of joining specified an organization.
Senator Citizen Coalition recalled that the Council of Peace was created to deal with Gaza. The politician emphasized that it is not a region where Poland "is someway peculiarly active all day". At the same time he added a bite:
– If the president sees the Polish right of state, which argues that the organisation with specified vague status, advanced costs and no functioning in precedence areas concerning the safety of Poland and Poles should enter, then let him make a formal proposal to the government, he will gotta justify it. I would be very happy to take a look at this proposal myself.
Krzysztof Kwiatkowski besides referred to the exchange between the president and the Prime Minister (see below for details). The lead quoted the public entry of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and asked, "Did it not go besides far?" The Senator replied:
– But that rude and brutal remark was made by the President. Why these trips to your household and your grandchildren?
Should president Karol Nawrocki apologize for his comment on the chief of government's family?
– No, I would have ended it as shortly as possible, due to the fact that this way of saying the President, I do not want to say that he was compromising, I will say mildly – he was surprising. Let us not be amazed at this, due to the fact that this is not a surprise of the President's affirmative behaviour," said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski.
The President-Prime Minister's line. It was about the Council of Peace, but not exactly
Let's get back to the origin of the case. Well, as we described in the Temat on February 15, president Karol Nawrocki hosted the "Rymanowski Breakfast" programme. erstwhile asked if he would attend a gathering of the Council of Peace in the United States, the politician revealed that he had not yet made his decision. He besides stated that "how Pilate behaves as Prime Minister and Government". erstwhile the host recalled that Prime Minister Donald Tusk advised: "If the president wants to, let him go," Karol Nawrocki replied:
– (...) The Prime Minister will not tell me where to fly. Mr. Editor, what are those words? The Prime Minister can tell his boy where he can go or his grandchildren.
These words in turn irritated Donald Tusk, who referred to them as X, stating harshly, "Mr. President, I realize fear, I realize nerves, but from my granddaughters wara".
One can besides get the impression that the Prime Minister and the president have a different opinion on joining the Council of Peace. This seems to confirm the words of the head of government. During a message made after the gathering of the National safety Council, Tusk powerfully stated that Poland would "not be a vassal". At the same time, he mentioned that in his opinion the position of president Karol Nawrocki on this issue was different.
