General Christopher Cavali, NATO Force Commander on the Old Continent, said on Tuesday the home of Representatives' Armed Forces Committee that "consistently recommends" to keep the same level of troops as since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
– My advice is to preserve US troops in Europe at the current level – he stated military, as Politico describes.
The NATO Force Commander in Europe has spoken. It's about the U.S. troops.
Importantly, besides the president of the home of Representatives' Armed Forces Commission, Mike Rogers (Alabama Republican) criticised the anticipation of limiting the presence of US troops in Europe, including the resignation of the U.S. from NATO forces on the continent.
He accused "some people in the Department of Defence" of trying to redirect military resources from Europe, which, in his opinion, harms national security. At the same time, he praised president Donald Trump for forcing NATO allies to increase defence spending and for acknowledging that "it was time to end the bloodshed" in Ukraine.
Let us besides remind that on Tuesday the media was informed that American troops began withdrawing from Podrzeszow Jasionka in Poland. Americans are going to different places in Poland, and their tasks under Rzeszow will take over the NATO contingent.
– I want there to be no doubt: this is an operation that was scheduled months ago. These are, in fact, the findings of the Washington Summit. The Polish-American operation in Jasionka is simply turning into the NATO-Wska operation. And besides involving Americans, but besides with another countries. So far, Poles and Americans have been stationed in Jasionka – he said in a conversation with Temat.pl Deputy Minister of National Defence Cezary Tomczyk.
Deputy Chief of the Ministry of Defence assured us that "all operations in the hub are moving smoothly, and the equipment is being redirected smoothly according to applicable procedures.".
